Sorry it has been a while since I have blogged! I have been so very busy the last couple of weeks! Boy, being 3 is hard work! I have been going to school and OT and Mother's Day Out and running and running all the time!! But I had to make time to blog today because I have the most exciting news. AMBUCS, a charity organization who works to provide therapy equipment to people who need it at little or no cost, has presented me with my very own AmTryke!!! It is a special chain-driven hand &foot pedalled tricycle. It helps me integrate my senses because it provides great proprioceptive (muscular) input for my arms and legs simultaneously as well as vestibular input from the motion itself!!! It will help my attention span, my body awareness, and motor planning, as well as enable us to start doing listening therapy (because when I am riding I don't even mind wearing the headphones!! :) ), which stimulates the parts of the brain that control language! Me, my moma, and Daddy are very excited!!
Bye now...I gotta go RIDE!!!Friday, October 31, 2008

My first day of school!!

The day has arrived!!
I'm THREE!!!!
I am finally three years old!!! We celebrated by going to the Zoo with my mom and dad and Gramma and Grampa!!! We saw birds and animals, and I got to ride the carousel as many times as I wanted (which was a lot!). We also played on the playground and ate sandwiches and cake! My peeps took lots of pictures (as usual), so here are a few of the highlights!
I rode the train all by myself!! 'Cuz, I am a big girl.
And we rode the carousel many many times!! I rode a dolphin, an elephant, an ostrich...I rode lots of animals!
And I showed Pablo around the Zoo, too! And soon...it was time to hit the playground...

Me and my Daddy looked at birds together...
and I pet a giant tortoise! (he isn't real, but I like him anyway!)
and then I rode the carousel a few more times!!

And then....I was pooped!
Sometimes even big-three-year-old girls need a nap!
Overall, it was a wonderful day. And the agenda for tomorrow, oh you know...big girl stuff. SCHOOL!!

My Last Day of Being Two!
So my last day of being two has arrived!! This is a very big deal! I am no longer a toddler! Gone will be the days of toddling and trivial pasttimes! I am on to far more serious matters, like preschool. This must be a day of reflection, to smile as we remember year that has past and to prepare ourselves to the journey that will be....THREE!
Or....we could use the time to see if I can balance on this car like a pommelhorse!!! Yeah...that sounds WAY better!

Goodbye my sweet two year old baby girl!! I have loved every moment with you in your maybe-not-so-terrible-twos. And I can't wait to get up in the morning and say Hello to my three-year-old daughter.

My new OT
Today was my first day at Sensational kids and I wanted to share of few pics. I had a lot of fun! I have an OT buddy and her name is Misty. She will have her OT time in the same gym as me at the same time as me, and maybe someday we will play together (at least, that is what the grown ups want). My mom is just giddy about the gym and the therapists!!
Here is me and Misty climbing out of the giant pit of foam bits!! Why doesn't everybody's house have a giant pit o' foam??
Here I am swinging (the OTs give my mom a line about how the swinging provide vestibular input and that I am working my muscles to balance myself - really it is just loads of fun!).
There is Misty again!! and I am climbing over the big beany mats!
That's Lorraine, my OT. She plays in the pit o' foam with us. She's silly. I like her when she isn't making me wear headphones for my listening therapy!

Oh, you guys, my Daddy was gone for so very long. Momma said he had to go to Texas to help people whose houses blew apart, but all I know is that he was gone for a very long time and I missed him very very much!!! I was so very happy to see him when he got home!! Gotta go, I gotta go climb on him and get tickled!! Bye bye!

New important skills
As many of you know, for a (almost) three year old, each day is filled with new adventures and milestones. Today was an important one for me!! You see, sometimes when you go down slides, you drop your ball. This is a terrible thing. You must never ever drop your ball. Because you never know what might happen if you do...someone else might take it!!! But, I have solved this problem and achieved a very important feat: Surrendering neither the ball, nor the slide for even a minute!!

Runnin' with bubbles....big bubbles
Yesterday, my momma and I went to Grampa & Gramma's house. I love to go there because everything is BIG (like Texas)! There is a big yard for me to run and run and run around in, and Grampa makes the biggest bubbles I have ever seen!!

And I love this tree!! My mom is not quite sure why I love it so much, but I like to touch it and hug it!! And when I am running it is always Home Base!

Lemme go, Gramma, I gotta run!!!
We had a lot of fun!! See ya soon!!

Havin' fun at the park..
Sensational Kids...like me!
On Saturday, Momma and I went to a NEW Occupational Therapy clinic called Sensational Kids! They have lots of cool toys there and the OT is really nice. I am really excited about it!! I hope to learn lots of new stuff. Also...notice how cute I look on the horsey...hint, hint, hint, Daddy! You know my birthday is coming up!! :)
